Guide the practice. Join a worldwide community of certified forest therapy guides.
Relational Forest Therapy™ is a heart-based practice: people and planet heal together, and healing happens in the context of relationship. Our guide training is more than a set of techniques — it is a pathway back into relationship with the more-than-human world.
We train guides, not therapists. A guide’s role is to offer carefully crafted invitations that help participants slow down, open their senses, and meet the natural world directly — so that the deepening relationship with the living world, not anything the guide administers, becomes the ground of the work. The method rests on a research-informed standard sequence — a strong framework that is also culturally adaptable to a great diversity of populations and places.
Guides bring this practice into psychotherapy, coaching, expressive arts, mindfulness, education, and community work — or build standalone guiding practices of their own. Certified guides now practice in forests on every continent except Antarctica, in clinical settings worldwide, and in creative adaptations to hundreds of unique locales and cultures.
Relational Forest Therapy Guide Training Pathway
“The new experiences during the immersion affected me so profoundly that I realized I’d become a different person — and that I’d be forever changed by them.”
“A flow started right after the training week — my walks happened easily, without me having to push. I had confidence pursuing it, and knew very early this was the right thing for me.”
“After guiding several walks I began to feel a peaceful confidence. Participants say things like ‘I needed this,’ ‘I feel so calm,’ and ‘you’ll never take a walk the same way again.’”
“Guide training helped me connect with the natural world in a sensory, imaginal, and emotional way — not only a cerebral one. I realized the importance of nature connection in a much deeper way.”
